In my effort to begin a renewed effort to pursue God, I approached a brother in Christ whom I believed God put in my path through a sermon he had preached, to be an accountability partner.
Little did I know that it would be the beginning of my spiritual growth into holiness for the glory of God. I knew that I had issues that I needed to talk with someone about and for that person to pray with and for me. We had met for several months when we had taken a break for the Christmas holidays. We talked about getting back into meeting every other week starting in January. I had let myself get out the habit and it was 3 months before we met again.
On Wednesday of this week, we crossed paths and spoke when he remembered an article that he had read and he immediately prayed for me and that we should meet.
We met at our usual place for breakfast and he shared the article. I was really moved. The article was just what I needed. But, what really moved me more than the article was knowing that after a 3 month break, he was still thinking about me and praying for me.
Though we know that Jesus will never leave us nor forsake us, it’s wonderful when the Lord brings someone into your life who chooses to spend time in prayer and fellowship helping you to grow in holiness. It still brings tears to my eyes – joyful tears. God is so good – all the time.
